About Clara's Romanian Journeys
Romania, planned by someone who grew up there.
Most travel companies selling Romania have never lived there. I have.
Who I am
My name is Dinu. I'm Romanian, I've lived in the UK for years, and I know both countries well enough to see the gap between them clearly. Romania is one of the most quietly extraordinary places in Europe — and most British travellers either don't know it exists or don't know how to travel it well. Clara's Romanian Journeys exists to fix that.
Why this, why now
Clara is my daughter. When it came to naming this, using her name felt right — it's personal, and it's the one I wanted people to remember. There's no bigger story behind it than that.
What I actually offer
I'm not a booking platform. I don't have a warehouse of hotel rooms or flight seats to shift. What I have is genuine, personal knowledge of Romania — the regions, the rhythms, the places that reward slow travel — and the ability to translate that into a journey that feels designed for you specifically, not assembled from a catalogue.
UK-based, Romania-rooted
I'm based in Portsmouth. My knowledge of Romania is rooted in the details that guidebooks miss — the right village at the right time of day, the scenic route that's actually worth it, the places that feel quietly extraordinary without being on anyone's top-ten list.
The promise
I plan every trip myself. When you ask me a question, I answer it. When something needs rethinking, I tell you. The goal is simple: you arrive in Romania knowing exactly what you're doing, with enough space to be surprised by it.
If Romania has been on your mind, let's talk about how to do it properly.
